Supporting new business

RMS has been excited to be involved in Altrincham’s Drive 2 Thrive competition.

After months of entries, online voting and a dragons den style pitch, John Wonnacott has been crowned as the winner of Drive 2 Thrive for his Local Creation business idea.

Drive 2 Thrive was launched by a group of local businesses and organisations in Altrincham as a competition for people living and or working in the area to come up with their own business proposition to boost Altrincham town centre.

John’s Local Creation business idea will provide space for local artists (including potters, jewellers, painters and fashion designers) which they could use to run classes, have workspace or have a gallery for retail. The business will also create a local artistic community and act as a springboard for a local arts festival.

Our MD Ruth was on the judging panel and was impressed with John’s creative idea for the area, she said: “I loved the fact that John was clearly driven and passionate. His centre will give artisans a home right in the heart of Altrincham.”

John has now set up Local Creation in Altrincham and is looking for tenants and sponsors; let us know if you want to get involved.
