RMS reappointed by pro Manchester

RMS has been retained by pro Manchester to promote the Business & Professional Services Conference 2012 following the success of this year’s inaugural event.

Managing Director Ruth Shearn said, “The inaugural BPS Conference was a hugely ambitious project that has put Manchester on the map and reinforced its position as a centre of excellence for the financial and professional sector.

“We are thrilled to be asked to continue working with pro Manchester on next year’s event, particularly as our three year retained contract with them has just ended.  This is a testimony to the great work the team at RMS has done since our appointment in 2008.

“Pro Manchester no longer has the luxury of public funding so the organisation is keen to undertake as much marketing in-house as possible - it makes complete business sense.

“We have met lots of interesting people through our association with pro Manchester and picked up new clients as a direct result of our membership which will continue.”

Shearn describes John Ashcroft, who was appointed chief executive office of pro Manchester in 2009, as:  “A breath of fresh air. He’s really grabbed the organisation by the scruff of the neck and reinvigorated it.

“His plans for next year’s conference are even more ambitious.  BBC Newsnight hosts Gavin Esler and Kirsty Wark will host it once again and the line-up will include globally influential speakers from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

“The intention is to put Manchester on the map, not just nationally this time but internationally.”
